Green Gold is a pigment I have admired for many years, although essentially a modern colour. As a standalone pigment, it brings to your painting a unique green that has its own elegance. However, when mixed it is weird!

When you first look at it as a single colour it is very interesting? , however, when mixed with other transparent colours like Alizarin Claret or Magenta it does extraordinary things. One wonders where the third colour came from as it seems quite magical. The magical qualities of Green Gold give it a high tint power and high capacity for being lightfast. Remember, because Green Gold is a transparent colour it has wonderful glazing properties and power. There is only one organic pigment in my Green Gold and as such this pigment is highly transparent and lightfast.

Lead Antimoniate, in genuine versions, appears to have been used as a pigment since the 5th century B.C. and has been manufactured since the 1400s. Being one of the most relied-upon colours and in constant demand. I am now one of a few artists colourman left making the genuine article, as opposed to the modern alternate. I continue to do so because its vivid, dense, almost primrose yellow cannot be mimicked, as portraitists and figure painters will attest. It is more powerful and yet more muted than its equivalents among the Cadmium range. Its handling characteristics are incomparable. A natural earth pigment in a beautifully rich shade, with very dense warm undertone. A good modelling pigment, which works well into yellow and red highlights. It also makes excellent Caucasian flesh tones when mixed with cadmium red or vermilion and any white.

Its strange for me as a colour maker, sometimes I become very proud of my exotic historic colour such as vermilion however I cannot be more proud of this rich earth colour, as I state above its a must for portraitists but also such a versatile colour for all.

Unbleached Titanium Dioxide Michael Harding Oil Colour

Manufactured as a different chemical process than the standard rutile titanium dioxide, which gives it a subtle linen or lime wash pinky-brown shade. As well as making it a good drier, such a presence makes this paint an ideal ground or underpainting colour, with good texture and a lean surface. The real power in this colour comes from its mixing abilities into any colour thus providing a suede effect that lends nicely to pastel colours and rich textures.

Many years ago I was asked by a well known English artist to make him special batches of this colour, when other artist saw it it became part of the regular range and has proved hugely popular with all artists.

This is a darker counterpart of the two Lead Antimoniate (Genuine Naples Light & Dark), which is closer to the shade offered by makers in more recent times before all manufacturers, except me, decided to replace the genuine pigment with not very accurate substitute blends. This Iron Oxide has been used as a wood dye and I realized that its capacity to enrich the grain of hardwood made it a wonderful candidate for paint making. It has great warmth with gingery undertones quite different to those seen in the Indian Yellows. Because the pigment particles are very small, it could almost be mistaken for a Lake. It has huge Tint Power which pulls whites and other yellows into a golden, rich Titianesque zone of warm low tones. Try it with Aureolin and the Earths.

An iron-based inorganic earth pigment; curing speed is of course fast. French Yellow Ochre can be described as a semi-transparent oil paint that is gritty by nature. Ochre is a common pigment choice for artists dating back to the Middle Stone Age. Ochre is a natural earth pigment containing hydrated iron oxide. I obtain our high-quality ochre pigment from the oldest source in France. My formulation of pigment is ground in linseed oil. A blend of Ivory Black, Burnt Umber, and Zinc and Titanium Whites which gives a markedly cool black substitute. The blue undertones are similar to but much milder than those of Prussian blue. A synthetic iron oxide. I decided to make this variant shade of Burnt Umber as a result of my observations of 16 -17th paintings which suggested that this pigment had lighter and redder characteristics than those it assumed when manufactured in held in animal bladders. Raw Umber is calcinated to make the pigment, and the extent of Manganese Dioxide mixed with the Iron Oxide determines the range of undertones; my formulation is much warmer than is usual.

So named because it was originally derived from the soot of oil lamps, this is pure Carbon, and probably the first pigment our ancestors ever used to decorate their caves. A soft, slightly warm shade of black whose surface gives it a greyish aspect. Probably not the best choice for unmixed underpainting on account of its tendency to move whilst drying, but this can be remedied with the addition of good drying Earths. 3. Our goal is to provide cost-effective and reliable shipping of these oversize, bulky or ‘dangerous goods’ products, for both our customers and Parkers Sydney Fine Art Supplies. The method we use, detailed in 3a., has proven to be the most effective way to address the conditional issues applied to shipping charges for these products purchased online.

a. Shipping charges applied at checkout for these product classifications are deemed ‘an estimated initial payment subject to amendment’ and will not be considered a finalised or agreed amount. This amount may be increased or decreased depending on a direct quotation from the freight company.
b. Shipping for these products is handled on a case-by-case basis, separate to checkout calculations. We will contact the customer by phone with an accurate, at-cost, shipping charge, less the amount you have paid at checkout. Sometimes there is even a credit as the initial payment is a flat amount based on average destination charges! Please contact us directly if you wish to get an accurate quotation immediately.
c. Any extra amounts or credit amounts will be finalised before the goods are shipped.

CLICK AND COLLECT SHIPPING OPTION
Click and Collect is selectable as a shipping option and as no shipping charges are incurred by Parkers Sydney Fine Art Supplies, no charge is applied at checkout.
The Click and Collect option, as a free shipping option, is conditional upon the customer collecting the order directly from The Rocks store – 3 Cambridge Street – The Rocks – NSW – 2000, during standard business hours, once the customer has been advised the order is ready and compiled for collection.
If this option is selected as part of the checkout process and the customer cannot collect the order in person, the customer agrees that arrangements will be made for a paid shipping option to be applied to the order and paid, prior to the order being shipped.
Click and Collect orders must be collected by the purchaser of the order with proof identity provided at the time of collection. This is to avoid fraudulent online transactions.
PACKING OF FRAGILE ITEMS
Paper is a fragile product, and our goal is to ensure it arrives to you safely. Extra packing will be used to ship it safely and although we do not charge for this, there may be an increase in logistics charges. We recommend that you consider purchasing a minimum of 5 sheets or pack quantities to both save on purchase price and shipping charges.
We aim to ensure you receive your art supplies in good condition.
ORDER FULFILLMENT
Orders that include all in stock items, that are received prior to 1pm (Monday to Friday), will generally be processed and shipped the same day. At the time of shipping you will receive a confirmation of your order having been sent and a tracking link so you can check estimated delivery times and the status of your delivery at all times.
FULFILLMENT OF BACK ORDERS
Products may display as in stock online, however during the period of the order being received to our physical store, the item may have changed to a status of 'out of stock' due to sales crossover from instore purchases. On these occasions one of our staff members will contact you and offer to order the product in (Australian suppliers only) and ship the order complete, when the ordered product has arrived. This may delay shipping by up to 4-5 days. We can also arrange to remove the product from the order and ship the balance of the goods to you. At all times we will keep you informed and will be guided by your instructions.
Unfortunately we do not offer freight free shipping of back orders.
